Interior Designer Portfolio – The Old School
A fantastic addition to our interior designer portfolio is this stunning home that has an unusual background. We worked to convert the existing building which was an old school into two independent homes. We were closely involved with this project from the start, working with a property developer. The property was initially uninhabitable and had to be completely stripped out, a lot of walls smashed down and a new floor added to make this old building into a new home.
Melissa Interior Design provided a turnkey service which included design concepts, space planning, the layout of lighting and electrics, bathroom and kitchen designs, purchasing, procurement, order management, installation and adding final touches. We also acted as project managers.
The feel for this property is signature Melissa – calm, neutral, but with thoughtful details. With lots of calming colours and natural materials, we create spaces like this to boost wellbeing and bring peace to busy lives. One of our absolute favourite features in this property is the black framed glass doors that separate the kitchen/diner from the lounge. They allow light to flood through the property but provide that important divide between the two zones.
